Auto-Profiling and Profile Development Process

STEP 1

Instrument the board

Attach at least one thermocouple to a ball or lead of the target component to be reworked. Connect the thermocouple to one of the 5 Sensor Inputs on the front of the RD-500.

Set Soak and Reflow Time/Temperatures

Set the desired maximum Soak and Reflow Times and Temepratures. For Lead-Free solders, simply enter the manufacturer's recommended numbers. The Auto-Profiling software will do the rest!

STEP 3

Auto Develop Profile

Press the Start Button to automatically develop the profile.

Note: The initial data will display overshoot on both the Soak and the Reflow. - This is normal and the Auto-Profiling software will automatically recalculate and correct for this.

STEP 4

Verfy Profile Accuracy

Run the profile again to confirm the accuracy.

STEP 5

Execute the Rework Operation

Once the determined rework operation profile is saved, the Operator can recall it any time for quick and repeatable operation.
